“Welcome Home” by Ozie Cargile

We change FEATURED ARTISTS for our “DAILY CLOUD Z COVER” every six months.
These archives will contain some of our favorite pieces from the “Daily Covers.”

We are actually planning to now put these in the form of a slideshow — that’s why the entries are so random . . .
so much wonderful art — so little time — lol

See ARTISTS PAGE for contact info or use SEARCH feature at bottom of page.

"Street Drama"

“I'd heard of Evergreen Care Center before. Cass and I had always made fun of the stupid ads they ran on TV, featuring some dragged-out woman with a limp perm and big, painted-on circles under her eyes, downing vodka and sobbing uncontrollably. "We can't heal you at Evergreen", the very somber voiceover said. "But we can help you to heal yourself." It had become our own running joke, applicable to almost anything.

"Hey Cass, "I'd say, "hand me that toothpaste." "Caitlin," she'd say, her voice dark and serious. "I can't hand you the toothpaste. But I CAN help you hand the toothpaste to yourself.”

Origin theories vary, but it is a fair guess that everything started from one point (i.e. some dot; even if that inception was multi-originated and simultaneous). SO — because everything our art convergence has ever initiated seems to come full circle — ZO has decided to focus its art offerings, trinkets, gifts, and productions around CIRCLES and SPHERES. We are developing a line of products now and hope to showcase some of them in the fall …

As we explored Eric's broad range of work -- we can now better understand the quote below by CS Lewis used on the About Eric Cox page on his website. A very interesting artist now concentrating on: "A Look at the 'Human Condition'" "Humans are amphibians-- half spirit and half animal. As spirits they belong to the eternal world, but as animals they inhabit time. This means that while their spirit can be directed to an eternal object, their bodies, passions, and imaginations are in continual change, for as to be in time means to change. Their nearest approach to constancy, therefore, is undulation-- the repeated return to a level from which they repeatedly fall back, a series of troughs and peaks." - CS Lewis in 'The Screwtape Letters'

18 — TEUNIS SWART

2015 SEPTEMBER | © Teunis Swart This is an "untitled" piece by Teunis. Great landscape complement to our ". . . different kind of universe." “Everyone wants to understand art. Why not try to understand the song of a bird? Why does one love the night, flowers, everything around one, without trying to understand them? But in the case of a painting people have to understand. If only they would realize above all that an artist works of necessity, that he himself is only a trifling bit of the world, and that no more importance should be attached to him than to plenty of other things which please us in the world, though we can't explain them. People who try to explain pictures are usually barking up the wrong tree.” -- Pablo Picasso

OCTOBER 2015 | "Time Travel Dials" "If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people." -- Confucius "Trust in dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity." -- Khalil Gibran In the O.D.D. Room we explore the mindset of those who plan in 5 year, 100 year, 1000 year and eternal terms . . . Individuals often make 5 year projections for their financial affairs -- 100 year planners tend to think in terms of family and passing along assets, etc. -- 1000 year planners are usually those who have a wider view of influence, who think in terms of governmental guidance, geography, commerce, education, perhaps even space travel -- those who think in eternal terms are often those who love . . . who contemplate a single flower or the wind . . .

DECEMBER 2015 | SIMON BECK -- Simon Beck is the quintessential Snow Art King! Winter Carnivals abound around the world during this season. Construction, art and imagination all mesh to form fantastic creations. We wish everyone would and could somehow enjoy the incredible minds and talents we all collectively share, rather than a world riddled with so much madness. We encourage you all to keep creating . . . creativity can change the world. Since 1973 there has been an international snow sculpture contest during the Quebec City Winter Carnival and more recently the Winterlude celebrations (in Ottawa) have had snow sculpture events. Many U.S. states hold their own competitions with a national event being held in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin each year. Perm, Russia; Breckenridge, Colorado; Sapporo, Japan; Frankenmuth, Michigan, and the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival also host snow sculpting events. The Saint Paul Winter Carnival which hosts snow and ice carving competitions is the oldest annual winter carnival in the world, with the first one being held in 1886, If you are lucky enough to have a beautiful holiday . . . share it!

APRIL 2015 | IGOR MORSKI -- You are what you think you are. We are all constantly refining the character that is “us.” We learn early how to play the pre-scripted role we have been placed in from birth . . . (i.e., where we are born, to whom we are born, what time we are born all play into our “Earth Acting Role.”). You can change your part, you can refine, enhance and morph your character’s role by writing your own script. Whatever and whoever you are — change is as easy as changing your mind — but you have to be serious about it. To reconstruct a bit of wisdom from Proverbs 23 “. . . as a person thinks, so are they.” There are many words of wisdom to corroborate this type of thinking. If you believe you can do something . . . you come closer to that something than believing that you can’t.
