Our mission is to use the arts as a podium for peace;
one
upon which racial and cultural barriers may be traded for exposure and understanding.
The world is riddled with division, mistrust, unforgiveness and prejudice. There are
justified and unjustified reasons behind all of this pain. Those in the Arts are vehicles
to express the ecstasy, conscience and agony of the times. We depict history from
an emotional perspective and often influence traditions by our observations and portrayals.
Many, in yielding to the abstract rather than facing the often dismal realities of today, enter into
fantasy without reaching out to those caught in the whirlwinds of transition and upheavals.
As many race to survive, standards of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you" sometimes get lost.
Can Fashion teach kindness, thoughtfulness, care?
No. But people in Fashion can. We want to encourage people to love others
outside of their own groups and to learn to love their enemies.
This is very hard — but very possible.
Our first Fashion presentation — now under construction
will feature the work of Designer CHERYL DANIELS
